About Cadis
Cadis is a Venetian producer group rooted in the cooperative tradition of Cantina di Soave, founded in Soave in 1898. The name Cadis 1898 refers to that origin. Working with growers across several parts of Veneto, the group produces both appellation wines and regional Veneto bottlings. Its broad range extends from fresh white wines to Valpolicella, Ripasso and Amarone.
Soave is an important point of reference. The finest vineyards lie on the hills around the historic town of Soave, where volcanic and limestone-rich soils, elevation and cooling air currents can give Garganega freshness and a distinctive mineral edge. Within Soave Classico, especially around places such as Fittà, wines can show greater concentration and length. Recioto di Soave Classico is the sweet counterpart, traditionally made with dried grapes.
In Valpolicella, Corvina and Rondinella are central, often joined by Molinara. Straight Valpolicella is generally juicy, cherry-scented and gently spicy. For Ripasso, Valpolicella gains extra depth through contact with the skins left after Amarone fermentation. Amarone della Valpolicella is made from dried grapes and is fuller, warmer and more complex, with dark fruit, dried cherry, cocoa and spice notes.
The range also includes approachable Veneto wines from Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as Bardolino and Bianco di Custoza. Cadis is particularly useful for drinkers wishing to explore Veneto’s variety: from dry, lively Garganega to powerful red wines made by appassimento. The appellation and any Classico designation remain the most helpful guides to origin and style.
